- Thank you for your interest in my art. A native Atlantan, I have been interested in art as long as I can remember. I recieved my B.F.A. from Carson-Newman College, just north of Knoxville, where I began an extensive study of the human figure, using it in my art to tell stories and relay basic human emotions. I continued my studies at Memphis College of Art earning my master's degree as well as two awards. After graduating, I began to paint landscapes, drawing inspiration from the early California plien-aire artists. I have also enjoyed studying the more traditional portrait artists, such as Vermeer and Sargent, and creating portraits that capture mood and personality.
